OUR SUSTAINABILITY APPROACH: REDUCE EMISSIONS, IMPROVE QUALITY

From day one, our mission has been to dramatically reduce the environmental impact of every day shoes without sacrificing how they look, feel, orwear down.
The manufacturing process and materials create the largest percentage of the overall CO2 emissions,so our approach focuses on using as many recycled and renewable bio-based ingredients as possible.
Currently, over 70% of our shoes are made from these responsible materials, proving sustainably made products aren’t only better for the health of the planet– they’re better for you.

RECYCLED PLASTIC BOTTLES

The upper material of our shoes is made with Recycled PET (rPET) derived from recycled plastic bottles. By recycling plastic into yarn, rPET reduces landfill waste and lowers carbon emissions compared to virgin polyester. In addition to the environmental benefit, rPET is also comfortable and durable, so they ensure your shoes feel good on your feet and will allow you to log plenty of miles in them.

DOPE DYEING

Dope dyeing is…well…pretty dope. It’s a color creation method that adds the die directly to the molten polymer before it’s spun into yarn. By adding the color at the fiber's creation stage, dope dying substantially reduces water consumption, energy use, and chemical pollution. It also improves the quality of the product by creating vibrant, long-lasting colors that are less likely to fade over time.

KNIT

Traditional material production uses a cut-and-sew method, resulting in excess fabric that is often thrown away.
With knit construction, we significantly reduce material waste by producing fabric that precisely matches the product's shape and size requirements. Not only does that minimize waste, but it’s also way more comfortable because we can add in stretch and target specific areas with more support where needed.

MIDSOLE

RECYCLED EVA

Recycled EVA (rEVA) takes existing synthetic foam and recycles it into a cushioning product ideal for midsoles.
In addition to reusing materials that would otherwise end up in landfills, it also requires less energy to produce, thereby lowering the overall carbon emissions. Added bonus, recycled EVA is lightweight, flexible, and supportive – AKA the qualities needed for all-day comfort.

MIDSOLE

NATURAL RUBBER BLEND

Our outsoles are made with a blend of natural and synthetic rubber. By incorporating natural rubber from the sap of rubber trees, the overall environmental impact is reduced because we use less petroleum-derived product. There are, however, durability benefits to using synthetic, as well as the grip and traction qualities of natural rubber. By combining the two, we manage to balance sustainability and longevity.

INSOLES

CORK

Cork is a renewable organic material that also supports biodiversity by improving health and lifespan of the trees.
Hand harvested without the need to cut down trees, the cork we use has been recycled from wine bottles, giving it even greater life.
It’s also moisture-wicking, durable, hypoallergenic, and easy to clean, making it an ideal material for insoles.

RECYCLED PU

Beneath the layer of cork is recycled PU – a cushioning and
supportive material ideal for footbeds. Recycled PU breaks down pre and post-consumer polyurethane and reprocesses it into a new polyurethane, thereby reducing waste and fostering a circular economy where materials are continuously reused and recycled.

LACES

ORGANIC COTTON

The environmental benefits of organic cotton are remarkable. Unlike traditional cotton, it’s grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or genetically modified seeds, requires 50% less water usage, and reduces chemical runoff.
Products made from organic cotton are not only kinder to the planet but also to those who wear them because it’s super soft, durable, and hypoallergenic.
